About
Elizabeth Godar started Studio Godar in 2025, a practice reflecting her background across architecture, film, and object design. Godar studied Architecture at Yale before working as a residential, furniture, and lighting designer in New York for Leroy Street Studio and Los Angeles for de Troupe. She has contributed to work featured in New York Design Week, Paris Fashion Week, Architectural Digest France, The Hangzhou Triennial of Fiber Arts, The Cut, Curbed, Milan Design Week, among others. Alongside her design practice, Godar has worked extensively in film; she served as Art Director on the Oscar-winning film Nomadland, directed by ChloƩ Zhao, as well as Production Designer on The Graduates, directed by Hannah Peterson, and has contributed to production design teams for directors Paul Thomas Anderson, Andrew Dominick, and Jordan Peele under award winning production designer Florencia Martin. Her own films are often concerned with the psychological power and memory of space. These stories give credence to the rich interior world of each individual, exploring the fantastical and taboo often hidden behind the banality of everyday life. These films have been selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick, published in Metal Magazine, One Point Four, Slamdance Film Festival, among others.
